Pleasant Grove Hawks (Texarkana, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sulphur Springs Wildcats (Sulphur Springs, TX), 53-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pleasant Grove upgrades its record to 11-13 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Liberty-Eylau (Texarkana, TX) to play the Leopards in a 4A Region II District 15 bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Leopards come into the bout with a record of 6-12. Liberty-Eylau lost 55-48 in their recent league bout against North Lamar (Paris, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 bout, on Monday, February 12. Sulphur Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 15-17 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 6-24 record after their 63-36 league loss to Paris (Paris, TX).
