The Thomas Walker Pioneers basketball team (Ewing, VA), was nudged 53-51 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA)

The Eagles now possess a 7-11 record. They put it on the line next when they host J.I. Burton for a Cumberland battle on Tuesday, February 13. Rye Cove will battle a Black Raiders team coming off a 61-32 league loss to Twin Springs (Nickelsville, VA). The Black Raiders record now stands at 3-16.

The Pioneers (9-14) will now prepare for their battle against Castlewood (Castlewood, VA). The Blue Devils come into the Cumberland battle with a 7-15 record. In their last battle, Castlewood was nudged by Eastside (Coeburn, VA), 67-49, in a league battle.
