Saranac Spartans (Saranac, NY) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Schroon Lake Wildcats (Schroon Lake, NY), 58-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Saranac upgrades its record to 8-8 on the campaign. The Spartans host Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY) to play the Hornets in a Section 7 Champlain Valley I bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Hornets come into the bout with a record of 10-6. Plattsburgh won 84-51 in their recent non-league bout against Crown Point (Crown Point, NY)

Next up, the Wildcats play the North Warren Central Cougars (Chestertown, NY) in a non-league bout, on Sunday, February 11. Schroon Lake will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 16-3 record after their 60-46 non-league win over Warrensburg (Warrensburg, NY).
