The Ward Melville Patriots basketball team scored 61 points and held the visiting Walt Whitman Wildcats to 49 in the Patriots league triumph on Friday.

The Patriots now sport a 11-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Patchogue-Medford for a Section 11 AAA-1 contest on Tuesday, February 13. Ward Melville will meet a Raiders team coming off a 62-43 league loss to Brentwood (Brentwood, NY). The Raiders record now stands at 13-6.

The Wildcats (6-9) will now prepare for their contest against Riverhead (Riverhead, NY). The Blue Waves enter the Section 11 AAA-1 contest with a 1-12 record.
