The Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles basketball team scored 40 points and held the visiting Cardinal Mooney Catholic Cardinals to 23 in the Gazelles league triumph on Friday.

The Gazelles now sport a 10-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit for a Catholic C-D D contest on Tuesday, February 13.

The Cardinals (9-8) will now prepare for their contest against Our Lady of the Lakes (Waterford, MI). The Lakers enter the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Our Lady of the Lakes ran past Detroit Cristo Rey (Detroit, MI), 43-17, in a non-league contest.
