The Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC) basketball felled the visiting Fuquay - Varina Bengals (Fuquay-Varina, NC), 56-44 in Friday's league test.
The Comets (8-12) will now prepare for their test against Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC). The Pirates go into the non-league test with a 5-13 record. In their last test, Corinth Holders was beaten by Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC), 53-46, in a league test.
The Bengals now own a 5-14 record. They play next when they travel to South Garner for a bout on Friday, February 16. Fuquay - Varina will clash with a Titans squad coming off a 48-31 non-league win over Cleveland (Clayton, NC). The Titans record now stands at 15-4.
