The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) basketball knocked off the host East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), 59-49 in Friday's non-league test.
The Golden Lions (11-2) will now prepare for their test against Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Gryphons go into the non-league test with a 5-3 record. In their last test, Thomas Jefferson went down by Burns (Lawndale, NC), 56-53, in a non-league test.
The Warriors now own a 8-9 record. They play next when they host Burns for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 13. East Gaston will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 75-15 non-league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 14-5.
