North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence over East Mecklenburg

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC), saw Independence's basketball squad overcome East Mecklenburg by a tally of 48-40.

With the victory, Independence improves its record to 12-7 on the campaign. The Patriots host Rocky River (Mint Hill, NC) to confront the Ravens in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, February 13. The Ravens come into the challenge with a record of 5-11. Rocky River lost 46-41 in their recent non-league challenge against Providence (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Eagles confront the Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, February 13. East Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 4-10 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 21-2 record after their 48-31 league win over Butler (Matthews, NC).
