Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Byhalia Indians (Byhalia, MS), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Olive Branch for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 3. Independence will face a Conquistadors squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Lafayette (Oxford, MS). The Conquistadors record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Byhalia falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Indians host Independence (Independence, MS) to face the Wildcats in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Monday, March 7. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Independence won 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against J.Z. George (North Carrollton, MS)
