Southern Guilford Storm (Greensboro, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Western Guilford Hornets (Greensboro, NC), 6-4 in a non-league test.
With the win, Southern Guilford upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Storm travel to Rockingham County (Wentworth, NC) to battle the Cougars in a Mid-State 3A test on Tuesday, March 7. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 1-1. Rockingham County won 8-3 in their recent non-league test against Reidsville (Reidsville, NC)
With the defeat, Western Guilford falls to 0-1 on the season. The Hornets host Northwest Guilford (Greensboro, NC) to battle the Vikings in a Metro 4A test on Tuesday, March 7. The Vikings come into the test with a record of 1-1.
