West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Lake Norman Wildcats (Mooresville, NC), 11-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Blackhawks now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Eastern Alamance for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. West Wilkes will face a Eagles squad coming off a 4-0 non-league loss to Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Lake Norman falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC) to face the Wonders in a Greater Metro 4A challenge on Monday, March 6. The Wonders enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. A.L. Brown lost 16-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC)
