In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Santa Cruz Cardinals basketball team scored a close 47-44 triumph over the Aptos Mariners.

The Cardinals (19-11) will now prepare for their contest against Venture Academy (Stockton, CA). The Mustangs go into the non-league contest with a 22-8 record. In their last contest, Venture Academy was tipped by Natomas (Sacramento, CA), 66-53, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Mariners battle the San Domenico Panthers (San Anselmo, CA) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, March 4. Aptos will attempt to better on its 24-6 season record. The Panthers go into the contest with a 23-8 record after their 61-41 non-league loss to Branson (Ross, CA).
