The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Buckeye Panthers (Buckeye, LA) and the visiting Grant Cougars (Dry Prong, LA), observed Buckeye's softball team get by Grant by a tally of 7-4.

The Panthers (3-3) will now prepare for their bout against Caldwell Parish (Columbia, LA). The Spartans go into the 3A District 2 bout with a 1-5 record.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Holy Savior Menard Eagles (Alexandria, LA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, March 3. Grant will attempt to advance on its 4-1 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 3-3 record after their 13-2 non-league loss to Dutchtown (Geismar, LA).
