The Nixon Mustangs softball team scored 14 runs and held the host Economedes Jaguars to 2 in the Mustangs non-league win on Saturday.

The Mustangs now possess a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mission Veterans Memorial for a 5A Region IV District 30 battle on Tuesday, March 4. Nixon will confront a Patriots team coming off a 8-7 league win over Mission (Mission, TX). The Patriots record now stands at 5-3.

With the loss, Economedes moves to 4-6 on the season. The Jaguars host Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 6A Region IV District 31 battle on Friday, March 7. The Cougars come into the battle with a record of 13-4.
