In Friday's league game, the host Monterey Plainsmen baseball team scored a nice 12-1 victory over the Lubbock Westerners.
The Plainsmen (8-5) will now prepare for their game against Coronado (El Paso, TX). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league game with a 6-3 record. In their last game, Coronado overcame El Paso Leadership Academy East (El Paso, TX), 7-2, in a non-league game.
The Westerners (1-3) will now prepare for their game against El Dorado (El Paso, TX). The Aztecs go into the non-league game with a 4-5 record. In their last game, El Dorado Ysleta (El Paso, TX), 6-6, in a non-league game.
