Azle Hornets (Azle, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Rider Raiders (Wichita Falls, TX), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 2-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saginaw for a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Wednesday, March 15. Azle will battle a Rough Riders squad coming off a 11-7 league loss to Brewer (Fort Worth, TX). The Rough Riders record now stands at 7-14.

With the loss, Rider falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Raiders travel to Granbury (Granbury, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 5A Region I District 5 challenge on Monday, March 13. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Granbury won 5-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Big Spring (Big Spring, TX)
