The La Joya Coyotes softball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Edinburg North Cougars to 0 in the Coyotes league triumph on Friday.

With the triumph, La Joya moves its record to 16-3 on the year. The Coyotes host Calallen (Corpus Christi, TX) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league game on Monday, March 13. The Wildcats come into the game with a record of 11-4. Calallen won 19-1 in their recent non-league game against MacArthur (San Antonio, TX)

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Zapata Hawks (Zapata, TX) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, March 15. Edinburg North will attempt to move on its 8-13 season record. The Hawks come into the game with a 4-7 record after their 10-0 league win over Port Isabel (Port Isabel, TX).
