Fairhope Pirates (Fairhope, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Mary G. Montgomery Vikings (Semmes, AL), 8-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 12-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Spanish Fort for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. Fairhope will battle a Toros squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Gulfport (Gulfport, MS). The Toros record now stands at 5-6.

With the loss, Mary G. Montgomery falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Baker (Mobile, AL) to battle the Hornets in a 7A Area 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 14. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 7-6. Baker won 17-0 in their recent league challenge against Davidson (Mobile, AL)
