Franklin Lions (Franklin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), 20-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 16-4 record. They take the field next when they host Elkhart for a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, March 14. Franklin will battle a Elks squad coming off a 7-6 league win over Westwood (Palestine, TX). The Elks record now stands at 3-12.

With the loss, Mexia falls to 0-3 on the campaign. The Black cats host Elkhart (Elkhart, TX) to battle the Elks in a 3A Region III District 20 challenge on Friday, March 17. The Elks enter the challenge with a record of 3-12.
