Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Harker Heights Knights (Harker Heights, TX), 8-1 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 15-2 record. They take the field next when they host Temple for a 6A Region II District 12 challenge on Tuesday, March 14. Midway will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Weiss (Pflugerville, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-12.

With the loss, Harker Heights falls to 12-6 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Hutto (Hutto, TX) to battle the Hippos in a 6A Region II District 12 challenge on Tuesday, March 14. The Hippos enter the challenge with a record of 8-13. Hutto lost 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Burnet (Burnet, TX)
