Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Leander Lions (Leander, TX), 6-3 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 11-7 record. They take the field next when they host Glenn for a 5A Region IV District 25 challenge on Monday, March 13. Hays will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 8-0 league win over Lockhart (Lockhart, TX). The Grizzlies record now stands at 19-4.

With the loss, Leander falls to 12-10 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Liberty Hill (Liberty Hill, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 5A Region IV District 25 challenge on Monday, March 13. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 11-3. Liberty Hill won 7-4 in their recent league challenge against Rouse (Leander, TX)
