In Friday's league contest, the South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) softball team overwhelmed the host New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS), by a margin of 11-3.

With the triumph, South Pontotoc moves its record to 3-0 on the year. The Cougars travel to Ripley (Ripley, MS) to play the Tigers in a 4A Region 2 contest on Tuesday, March 28. The Tigers come into the contest with a record of 4-6.

In their next game, the Bulldogs play the New Site Royals (New Site, MS) in a non-league contest, on Friday, March 17. New Albany will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record.
