The Weslaco Panthers softball team scored 16 runs and held the host La Joya Coyotes to 0 in the Panthers non-league win on Monday.

The Panthers now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo for a non-league battle on Monday, March 17.

With the loss, La Joya moves to 0-2 on the season. The Coyotes travel to Edinburg (Edinburg, TX) to confront the Bobcats in a battle on Saturday, March 15. The Bobcats come into the battle with a record of 0-0.
