Hillsboro Eagles (Hillsboro, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Mexia Black Cats (Mexia, TX), 15-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Robinson for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 15. Hillsboro will battle a Rockets squad coming off a 13-1 non-league loss to West (West, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 4-11.

With the loss, Mexia falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Black cats travel to Madisonville (Madisonville, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 4A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 18. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 8-7. Madisonville won 7-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Centerville (Centerville, TX)
