Centennial Hawks (Las Cruces, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mayfield Trojans (Las Cruces, NM), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Hawks now own a 8-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alamogordo for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. Centennial will face a Tigers squad coming off a 14-0 non-league win over Cobre (Bayard, NM). The Tigers record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Mayfield falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Trojans host Organ Mountain (Las Cruces, NM) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 11. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 7-0. Organ Mountain won 14-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Cleveland (Rio Rancho, NM)
