Spectators at Monday's non-league match between the Ragland Purple Devils (Ragland, AL) and the host Appalachian Eagles (Oneonta, AL), witnessed Ragland's softball squad tip Appalachian by a count of 8-4.

The Purple Devils now sport a 3-1 record. They play next when they host St. Clair County for a non-league match on Wednesday, March 13.

With the loss, Appalachian moves to 3-2 on the season. The Eagles host Coosa Christian (Gadsden, AL) to face the Conquerors in a non-league match on Tuesday, March 12. The Conquerors go into the match with a record of 1-3. Coosa Christian lost 14-11 in their recent non-league match against Gaylesville (Gaylesville, AL)
