The Clinton Red Devils (Clinton, SC) softball nipped the visiting Whitmire Wolverines (Whitmire, SC), 3-2 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Red Devils (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against Union County (Union, SC). The Yellowjackets go into the AAA Region 4 bout with a 3-1 record. In their last bout, Union County got by Mid-Carolina (Prosperity, SC), 10-1, in a non-league match.

With the loss, Whitmire falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Wolverines travel to Dixie (Due West, SC) to face the Hornets in a A Region 2 match on Tuesday, March 12. The Hornets enter the match with a record of 0-1. Dixie lost 4-2 in their recent non-league match against Westside (Anderson, SC)
