Salem Spartans (Salem, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Fleming Colonels (Roanoke, VA), 20-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Glenvar for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 15. Salem will face a Highlanders squad coming off a 18-2 league loss to Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Highlanders record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Fleming falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Colonels host Martinsville (Martinsville, VA) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league test on Wednesday, March 13. The Bulldogs come into the test with a record of 0-0.
