The crowd at Monday's non-league match between the Holtville Bulldogs (Deatsville, AL) and the host Maplesville Red Devils (Maplesville, AL), saw Holtville's softball squad nip Maplesville by a count of 18-14.

The Bulldogs now sport a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Charles Henderson for a 5A Area 4 match on Thursday, March 14. Holtville will face a Trojans squad coming off a 15-4 non-league loss to Carroll (Ozark, AL). The Trojans record now stands at 6-6.

With the loss, Maplesville falls to 5-6 on the campaign. The Red devils host Verbena (Verbena, AL) to face the Red Devils in a 1A Area 6 match on Tuesday, March 12. The Red Devils enter the match with a record of 9-4. Verbena lost 6-3 in their recent non-league match against Maplesville (Maplesville, AL)
