Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), 13-1 in a league challenge.

The Bobcats now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they host Tuckerman for a 3A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. Walnut Ridge will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 13-3 non-league loss to Wynne (Wynne, AR). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Newport falls to 1-6 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Salem (Salem, AR) to face the Greyhounds in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, March 12. The Greyhounds enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Salem won 15-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Yellville-Summit (Yellville, AR)
