The Hidalgo Pirates (Hidalgo, TX) baseball trounced the host Grulla Gators (Rio Grande City, TX), 7-0 in Tuesday's league challenge.
The Pirates now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to La Feria for a 4A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, March 18. Hidalgo will clash with a Lions team coming off a 8-2 league loss to Valley View (Pharr, TX). The Lions record now stands at 5-3.
With the defeat, Grulla drops to 1-7 on the year. The Gators travel to La Joya (La Joya, TX) to clash with the Coyotes in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 14. The Coyotes go into the challenge with a record of 10-5. La Joya lost 13-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX)
