Fans at Tuesday's league battle between the Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) and the visiting Southern Lee Cavaliers (Sanford, NC), saw Pinecrest's soccer squad hold off Southern Lee by a count of 2-1.

The Patriots (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Lee County (Sanford, NC). The Yellow Jackets enter the Sandhills 3A/4A battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Lee County was edged by Jordan (Durham, NC), 4-2, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Cavaliers battle the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, March 13. Southern Lee will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record. The Timberwolves enter the battle with a 6-2 record after their 4-3 non-league win over North Stanly (New London, NC).
