With the triumph, Laney improves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Buccaneers host South Brunswick (Southport, NC) to play the Cougars in a non-league game on Friday, March 14. The Cougars enter the game with a record of 1-0. South Brunswick won 11-1 in their recent non-league game against Fairmont (Fairmont, NC)

The Trojans now hold a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to East Columbus for a non-league game on Thursday, March 13. West Brunswick will play a Gators squad coming off a 10-8 non-league loss to North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Gators record now stands at 0-1.
