The Cairo Syrupmakers soccer squad scored 10 points and held the visiting Monroe Golden Tornadoes to 0 in the Syrupmakers league victory on Tuesday.
The Syrupmakers now hold a 5-1 record. They play next when they travel to Colquitt County for a non-league bout on Friday, March 14. Cairo will play a Packers squad coming off a 6-2 league win over Valdosta (Valdosta, GA). The Packers record now stands at 6-3.
With the loss, Monroe moves to 0-4 on the year. The Golden tornadoes host Westover (Albany, GA) to play the Patriots in a 3A Area 1 bout on Thursday, March 13. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 1-6. Westover lost 9-2 in their recent league bout against Peach County (Fort Valley, GA)
