Willcox Cowboys (Willcox, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ), 4-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Cowboys now own a 10-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Douglas for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 12. Willcox will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 15-1 non-league win over Pima (Pima, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-4.

With the loss, Safford falls to 7-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Pusch Ridge Christian Academy (Tucson, AZ) to battle the Lions in a 3A South challenge on Tuesday, March 15. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy won 18-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Florence (Florence, AZ)
