Kentucky High School Basketball - Newport nips Cooper

Newport Wildcats (Newport, KY) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Cooper Jaguars (Union, KY), 45-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Newport upgrades its record to 32-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Campbell County (Alexandria, KY) to play the Camels in a non-league bout on Thursday, March 21. The Camels come into the bout with a record of 23-6. Campbell County won 75-62 in their recent non-league bout against George Rogers Clark (Winchester, KY)
