The Vermilion Catholic Eagles routed the host Ascension Episcopal softball squad by a final score of 24-13 in Tuesday's non-league battle.
The Eagles (6-1) will now prepare for their battle against Highland Baptist Christian (New Iberia, LA). The Bears go into the 1A District 7 battle with a 7-6 record. In their last battle, Highland Baptist Christian notched a victory over Hanson Memorial (Franklin, LA), 5-1, in a league battle.
The now possess a 2-10 record. They play next when they travel to Westminster Christian Academy for a non-league battle on Thursday, March 14. Ascension Episcopal will meet a squad coming off a 15-11 non-league loss to Elizabeth (Elizabeth, LA). The record now stands at 1-4.
