Bowie Pirates (Simms, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Avery Bulldogs (Avery, TX), 17-0 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bloomburg for a 1A Region III District 18 challenge on Friday, March 15. Bowie will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to Linden-Kildare (Linden, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Avery falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Maud (Maud, TX) to battle the Cardinals in a 1A Region III District 18 challenge on Wednesday, March 13. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 10-5. Maud lost 14-0 in their recent league challenge against Linden-Kildare (Linden, TX)
