Buckeye Panthers (Buckeye, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Caldwell Parish Spartans (Columbia, LA), 7-1 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 12-5 record. They take the field next when they host Marksville for a 3A District 2 challenge on Wednesday, March 13. Buckeye will battle a Tigers squad coming off a 10-9 league win over Bunkie (Bunkie, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Caldwell Parish falls to 8-7 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Winnfield (Winnfield, LA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 14-4. Winnfield won 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Mansfield (Mansfield, LA)
