Opelousas Catholic Vikings (Opelousas, LA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA), 4-0 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 13-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to False River for a 1A District 6 challenge on Thursday, March 14. Opelousas Catholic will battle a Gators squad coming off a 18-0 league loss to Sacred Heart (Ville Platte, LA). The Gators record now stands at 0-9.

With the loss, Catholic of Pointe Coupee falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Hornets host St. Edmund (Eunice, LA) to battle the Fighting Blue Jays in a 1A District 6 challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Fighting Blue Jays enter the challenge with a record of 7-3. St. Edmund won 9-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Northside Christian (Crowley, LA)
