West Stokes Wildcats (King, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC), 7-5 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host High Point Christian Academy for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. West Stokes will battle a Cougars squad coming off a 11-0 non-league win over Gaston Christian (Gastonia, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, McMichael falls to 3-1 on the campaign. The Phoenix travel to Western Alamance (Elon, NC) to battle the Warriors in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 13. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 2-3. Western Alamance lost 10-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Randleman (Randleman, NC)
