Mesa Verde Mavericks (Citrus Heights, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Valley Christian Lions (Roseville, CA), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Mavericks now sport a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they host Mira Loma for a Golden Empire League challenge on Wednesday, March 13. Mesa Verde will face a Matadors squad coming off a 17-4 non-league loss to El Camino (Sacramento, CA). The Matadors record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Valley Christian falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Mesa Verde (Citrus Heights, CA) to face the Mavericks in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 21. The Mavericks enter the challenge with a record of 7-1.
