Pelham Panthers (Pelham, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host West Blocton Tigers (West Blocton, AL), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Mountain Brook for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. Pelham will face a Spartans squad coming off a 21-1 league win over Shades Valley (Birmingham, AL). The Spartans record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, West Blocton falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Tigers host Bibb County (Centreville, AL) to face the Choctaws in a 4A Area 6 challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Choctaws enter the challenge with a record of 2-1. Bibb County won 3-1 in their recent league challenge against Hale County (Moundville, AL)
