The Roughnecks (8-5) will now prepare for their bout against Wharton (Wharton, TX). The Tigers go into the non-league bout with a 3-8 record. In their last bout, Wharton was routed by Bay City (Bay City, TX), 6-3, in a league bout.

In their next game, the Blackcats clash with the Brazosport Exporters (Freeport, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 29 bout, on Tuesday, March 18. Bay City will attempt to advance on its 6-11 season record. The Exporters go into the bout with a 5-6 record after their 12-2 league loss to El Campo (El Campo, TX).
