Eastern Montgomery Mustangs (Elliston, VA) followers went home happy Monday as they saw their soccer squad get by the visiting Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), 2-1 in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Auburn for a non-league test on Friday, March 17. Eastern Montgomery will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to James River (Buchanan, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Giles drops to 0-1 on the season. The Spartans host George Wythe (Wytheville, VA) to meet the Maroons in a Mountain Empire test on Thursday, March 23. The Maroons come into the test with a record of 0-0.
