The McGuffey Highlanders softball team scored 11 runs and limited the visiting Mapletown Maples to 1 in the Highlanders non-league triumph on Wednesday.

With the triumph, McGuffey moves its record to 2-0 on the year. The Highlanders host South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA) to clash with the Gladiators in a non-league game on Monday, March 18. The Gladiators come into the game with a record of 1-1. South Allegheny won 22-5 in their recent non-league game against Bishop Canevin (Pittsburgh, PA)

In their next game, the Maples clash with the Charleroi Cougars (Charleroi, PA) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 22. Mapletown will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
