Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (Mission, TX), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-10 record. They take the field next when they host Cigarroa for a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. Nixon will battle a Toros squad coming off a 12-9 league loss to Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX). The Toros record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Mission Veterans Memorial falls to 8-6 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX) to battle the Rattlers in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, March 19. The Rattlers enter the challenge with a record of 4-6. Rio Grande City won 10-5 in their recent league challenge against Nixon (Laredo, TX)
