North Carolina High School Soccer - Providence knocks off Independence

The Providence Panthers (Charlotte, NC) soccer overwhelmed the visiting Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC), 6-1 in Thursday's league challenge.

The Panthers now hold a 2-4 record. They play next when they host Porter Ridge for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 17. Providence will play a Pirates squad coming off a 5-2 non-league win over Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 5-2.

Next up, the Patriots play the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) in a Southwestern 4A outing, on Tuesday, March 18. Independence will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Eagles go into the outing with a 4-3 record after their 7-1 non-league win over Olympic (Charlotte, NC).
