In Thursday's non-league match, the host Poplarville Hornets softball team scored a nice 12-0 win over the Long Beach Bearcats.

The Hornets (7-5) will now prepare for their match against Greene County (Leakesville, MS). The Wildcats come into the 4A Region 8 match with a 7-4 record. In their last match, Greene County notched a victory over Moss Point (Moss Point, MS), 16-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Bearcats battle the Pascagoula Panthers (Pascagoula, MS) in a 6A Region 4 match, on Tuesday, March 18. Long Beach will attempt to better on its 3-7 season record. The Panthers come into the match with a 2-5 record after their 4-2 non-league win over Vancleave (Vancleave, MS).
