In Thursday's non-league match, the host San Benito Greyhounds softball team scored a nice 10-0 victory over the Zapata Hawks.

The Greyhounds (9-7) will now prepare for their match against Hanna (Brownsville, TX). The Golden Eagles go into the 6A Region IV District 32 match with a 5-8 record. In their last match, Hanna gained a win over Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX), 14-4, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Hawks battle the Calallen Wildcats (Corpus Christi, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 31 match, on Tuesday, March 18. Zapata will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Wildcats go into the match with a 17-4 record after their 15-0 league win over King (Kingsville, TX).
